Terms

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Virtual Postcards (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. Questions: hello@virtualpostcard.net.

What Virtual Postcards is

A way to send digital postcards: a picture on the front and a few words on the back, delivered by link or email. Everything is virtual: we don't print or post anything.

Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Virtual Postcards, and 18 (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy anything. You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep your inbox secure. You're responsible for what's sent from your account.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. That deletes the postcards you've sent, including from your recipients' Fridges.

Be decent

Don't use Virtual Postcards to send anything abusive, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, illegal, or that you don't have the right to share, and don't use it for spam or bulk messaging. Only email postcards to people who'd expect to hear from you.

We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If you see something that shouldn't be here, email hello@virtualpostcard.net.

Sharing links

Anyone with a postcard's link can open it, and the same goes for Fridge links and group card signing links. Share them only with the people they're meant for.

Prices and what you get

All prices are in pounds sterling. Any tax that applies is shown at checkout.

Free: your first postcard is free. It's shared by link and carries a small VP mark.

Pay as you go: 99p a card, or a book of 5 stamps for £3.99 or 12 for £7.99. One stamp sends one card. Stamps never expire.

Plus: £2.99 a month or £19.99 a year. Includes up to 20 cards each calendar month (unused cards don't roll over), email delivery, seasonal designs, unlimited reminders and 2 group postcards a year.

Teams: £3 a card, or £30 a month for up to 500 cards a month.

Group postcards: £4.99 each, or from a Plus allowance.

Stamp Book: every card you send earns a stamp, and every 10th is a golden stamp worth one free card. Stamps and golden stamps have no cash value and can't be transferred.

We may change prices. A new price never applies to something you've already paid for, and we'll tell you before a subscription renews at a new price.

Subscriptions and cancelling

Plus and Teams monthly renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page (the customer portal). You keep what you've paid for until the end of the current period, then it stops.

Refunds

Stamps: if you change your mind within 14 days of buying a stamp book or single stamp, we'll refund it in full as long as none of its stamps have been used.

Plus: if you change your mind within 14 days of first subscribing, we'll refund it in full.

To ask for a refund, email hello@virtualpostcard.net. A refunded purchase removes the stamps or plan it gave you. This doesn't affect your legal rights, including if something we provide is faulty.

Your content

You keep the rights to what you write, upload and record. You give us permission to store, display and deliver it so the service works, for as long as it's on Virtual Postcards. Make sure you have the right to use any photo or recording you upload.

The designs, illustrations and the Virtual Postcards brand belong to us and our illustrators. You can share postcards made with them, but not copy or reuse the designs elsewhere.

The service

We work hard to keep Virtual Postcards available and reliable, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted, and email delivery can depend on the recipient's email provider. We may change, add or remove features over time.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
